Finding out that your pet has gone missing is dreaded by every owner. By identity chipping your pet you are greatly increasing the chances of being reunited with them once they are found.
What is identity chipping?
It is when a tiny microchip, about the size of a grain of rice, is implanted under your pets skin at the scruff of their neck. This tiny microchip has a unique identity code, which along with your contact details, is stored on a secure database.
When your pet is found a handheld scanner is used to detect the microchip and read the unique code in much the same way that barcodes are read at supermarket checkouts. The details of the microchip are then entered into the secure database which brings up your contact details enabling you to be reunited with your lost pet. Scanners are routinely used by veterinary practices, rescue kennels and dog wardens when a lost animal is found.
The microchip is inserted using a needle applicator in the same way a vet gives your pet their vaccination. It can be done during a consultation, at vaccination time, or even at the time of neutering when they won’t even feel it!
Get your pet identity chipped for just £15.00 incl vat (a saving of £5.00) if done at the same time as their vaccination or during any other procedure
